In a similar situation to you but I do have a contact now. A guy who has a large van and a second driver, both of them do weekly runs back and fore to the UK.
His name is Richard Wilson of Beehappy Rentals.
If we can't find a firm that will do the move in 1 go, we'll rent a lock up and then ask him to fit as much in as possible on 2 or 3 trips until its done. I've had no responses from removal firms as yet but the next step is to ask them to visit the house and quote directly.

Do you have any idea about the paperwork we need leaving here & entering BG? I know we have to register our belongings at the local tax office in the region we will be living at least 2 months before we move but I can’t find any info 😫

Ooh, wasn't sure that was a rule in all honesty?
I'm on another forum and there's been no mention of that.
I think that if your belongings are just personal possessions and nothing of value is newer than 6 months old, then you're all good to go.

The chap I mentioned has all the details. He often writes about the journey on his Facebook page and whilst sometimes inspected, is always quickly on his way again.

I haven't seen any info about registering your possessions but I'll try and look that up.
I have a few target air rifles which I was concerned about but they are all WAY lower than the legal 17 ft/lb limit in Bulgaria ( mine are 5 ft/lb). I've reliably informed that there's no issues as long as they are just for me and not new.
