Hi everyone,
soon I will be traveling to Sofia, can I get vaccinated while visiting Bulgaria?

I don't know the official rules, but while I was in line at the vaccine point in Plovdiv, I did see a couple of passports (as opposed to local IDs). Vaccine take up is really low here (around 15%), so my impression is that the clinics are not massively busy, so I'd expect them not to turn you away.

However, I went to a nice private hospital in Plovdiv (Pulmed), so that probably meant smaller lines than at a public hospital. I'd recommend that you go to Tokuda or equivalent in Sofia.

You should check whether you can still get the EU Covid Certificate based on your passport number though, as perhaps that system is tied to a local ID number. But this means hanging around for a few weeks for your second jab, or getting the single dose vaccine.

If you are passing through Austria, I know it is possible for visitors to get the Jab in Vienna without an appointment.

WE received our vaccine in Bg--both jabs and a certificate.聽聽I had no problem obtaining the official certificate.聽 i am a US Citizen my wife is dual.聽聽My certificate is different from hers however we have traveled to Spain without any incident and both certificates were accepted.

Hi gwynj,
Thank you for this information. I prefer to get vaccinated with one of the two American made vaccines: 鈥淢oderna or Pfizer鈥�
As for the Covid Certificate, I checked online and I think I can get it with my US passport.

I am not sure if it makes any difference since I am only visiting Bulgaria.
Can you share the name of hospital or clinic where you got your vaccine.. thank you

If there isn't any particular reason...like not having Health insurance back home...or willing to take some sputnik / sinovax I don't see why risk.

My US healthcare provider will not cover me overseas.

My vaccine was at a private clinic in Burgas owned by Dr. Storz聽聽358 8514533 however I believe you can聽 obtain the vaccine at any clinic.

Why are you in such a hurry to get the " vaccine"? Isn't it better to enjoy your BG trip instead?聽 You don't need it to enter the country nor to stay for a month.

There is only a 2 week gap between the two shots in the US.聽 That's what I've done and I had absolutely no side effects from either of the shots.聽 Other than a tiny soreness as the injection area.聽聽Of course, after reading the Bulgarian news media, it seems Bill Gates is injecting tracking devices into everyone and also mutating your genetic makeup so he can find you and control you with his mind!聽

Whatever you decide, get both doses in the same country and make sure they are recorded in such a way that you can get your vaccine passport. I work in a U.K. vaccination centre and if you get vaccinated in different parts of the U.K. (eg one in England, one in Wales) it takes a lot longer for the systems to sync, to provide a vaccine certificate -聽 we can鈥檛 help people who had one dose abroad at all. BTW it鈥檚 3 weeks between Pfizer doses and 28 days for Moderna, not 2 weeks as said above.
