Thank you for the information. This means that if I am going to get a laptop or phone, it will have to be in Cyprus itself.

I would say its a safer bet as most shops give at least a two year guarantee by EU law they have to do so.  I've had many an item replaced or repaired under that EU guarantee .

Unless of course you buy cheaper elsewhere and know that you can have your warranty honoured here in Cyprus at a makers repairer

It's one of the things I wrestle with on major purchases ..expensive to buy but at least the repairs or the replacement can be done locally

Ease of replacement or repair under warranty should be clarified prior to purchase and form part of the decision. Personally returned one item in 22 years. Manufacturer replaced with new via the Cyprus outlet.

I also include replacement insurance when making expensive tech purchases

The story is that before I relocate to Cyprus, I need to get a phone and laptop. I managed to get through to A.T Multitech and they told me international warranty is only for certain brands, models and region. They have advised me to get the products in Cyprus to be safe.

Larnaca. As long as local warranty covers the products, I guess I could buy at the airport if they do sell.
