I have a lot of experience in bricklaying. I have worked in the states and Australia. I had my own business in Ireland but work is hard come by these days and was thinking of moving to denmark
Hi there,

Welcome to DK! :) I have linked people here to the Worktrotter site before as it's a great resource for everything you need to know re Denmark, particularly work. There is a Q&A session on the Facebook page at the moment, just on the offchance that you are online? facebook.com/life.and.work.in.denmark

My background is in marketing so your industry is pretty alien to me. They are expanding the Copenhagen Metro at the moment so a lot of building work is going on in the city at the moment (and not just with the Metro!) but as I don't know the industry I'm not sure if that means there'll be work available, sorry!

Best of luck, though! :)
Does anyone have information on bricklaying ( construction ) work in Copenhagen. Thank you

Hi, I'm thinking of moving to Denmark from kuwait . I'm 28 years old and have 6 years experience. If anyone has any information on this please write back.
Hi both,

The job market is tough here with a 7.9% unemployment rate so it is not necessarily as easy to get a job upon arrival. So here are some resources that would be useful :)

I recommend that your first port of call should be the Worktrotter website. It's been a great 'one stop shop' for me in terms of getting used to my new life here. It serves to help new expats or potential expats here in Denmark.

Also take a look at some of the Denmark blogs on this website as these give a personal view of Denmark and across different cities.

If you are an experienced professional, also join Denmark based groups on LinkedIn which are relevant to your profession - not just asking for jobs but participating in discussions relevant to your field so you can show that you know what you are talking about.

If, after your research, you are set on moving to Denmark I would advise that you try and learn a bit of Danish before your move. If you are fluent in English then you can survive in Denmark but I personally think that speaking Danish is important if you are to thrive here as it of course will open more opportunities.
