There are quite a few Asian expat communities across England depending on where you are heading. Manchester, Birmingham and London all have well established communities from across Asia including East Asian, South Asian and Southeast Asian groups.

The Japan Society North West that was mentioned is a solid starting point if you are heading to Manchester. Most major cities also have cultural centers and regular meetup events that are easy to find once you know where to look.
