Need information for US student who wants to live in UK!!

Hi,

I'm new here. I was told this site can help me with the information that I need. I am a US citizen with two years ( pretty much) of my major completed. I have no supportive or caring family,. I dont fit in with most people. Where I live, people are into lots of sex,drugs, dont use their minds, and anyone who has a brain is a loser to them. I hate it. My fiance passed away on 8/20, and he was the only person who I felt great around. I feel I have to live a good life in his honor. Good men are HARD to come by, and he was a GREAT man. Ive always had this dream of finishing school and traveling, but now I just want to leave everything behind and start over.

I need any information about international students, good schools for computer science and engineering, anything about any type of grants, scholarships, or loans getting there and once ive been there for a while, any agencies, any places I can go thats helpful, anything at all that could help me get to into a school for computer science in the UK, help me pay or things I need to know..anything... YOu may ask questions to help you answer mine. Please..Please..no rude, hurtful, inappropriate, or non helpful comments please...

The UK welcomes foreign students but only if they can pay their way. Any grants or loans you need will have to be arranged in the US. A FAFSA loan is your best bet. You will need typically $15,000 per year to cover international student fees and a further $10-15,000 per year to cover living expenses. As you are 2 years into your course (for a full bachelor degree?) it would make sense to finish it and go to the UK for an MSc course which will take 1 year. Going now would be a bad move as you would run up huge debts. Also be aware that student visas to the UK are strictly temporary - when your course finishes you must return to your home country unless you can then qualify for some other visa such as a work visa. This may be possible but there is no guarantee. You are obviously going through a very rough time - don't make any rash decisions.

My immediate thought: you could meet your immediate goals by moving to another part of the USA, and so avoid the need to deal with student visas, and the fact that the British and US education systems are different. Within the USA you would be more likely to get full credit for the years that you have already completed.
