Hi everyone聽

My name is Obasemola Ayodele Emmanuel and I am Nigerian,i just got admitted into the Tallinn University of Technology for a masters program in Work and Organizational Psychology. Being from Nigeria,it goes without question that i have to worry about racism when going to some parts of Europe and after browsing through the internet, i got a strong mixture of both negative and positive vibes and the negative vibes leave me kinda scared,I even read about a politician that made specific inciting comments about Africans but seeing a forum like this is really refreshing,I was about to give up on going for the program when i found expatblog. Now i just have 2questions please:
1. How strong really is the level of racism in Estonia generally and Tallinn in particular?
2. What are my chances of getting a job while studying?

Hello,聽 skytrek聽 !聽聽聽I聽 saw聽 many聽 black聽 people聽 in聽 Tallinn.聽聽聽Estonians聽 most聽 of聽 all聽 do聽 not聽 like聽 Russian聽 people聽 and聽 Russian聽 speech.聽聽If聽 you聽 learn聽 Estonian聽 language -聽 you聽 will聽 feel聽 comfortly聽 in聽 Tallinn.聽聽Estonians聽 are聽 cold,聽 they聽 do聽 not聽 show聽 their聽 emotions.聽聽I聽 have聽 never聽 heard聽 even聽 one聽 event聽 of聽 racialism聽 to聽 the聽 black聽 people聽 in聽 Estonia.聽聽聽You聽 are聽 wellcome聽 to聽 Tallinn,聽 good聽 luck !

Sorry,聽 I聽 can聽 not聽 help聽 you聽 to聽 find聽 a聽 job,聽聽but聽 I聽 know聽 that聽 it聽 is聽 not聽 easy聽 to聽 find聽 a聽 job聽 without聽 Estonian聽 language聽 in聽 Estonia .

I really hate it when people such as alexfromgibraltar give politically correct, feel good information that isn't true.聽 There are NOT many black people in Estonia.聽 There are very few.聽 Regarding racism and bigotry, alexfromgibraltar overstates the situation regarding Russians and their language and he is totally out of this universe regarding racist incidents in Estonia.聽 Not only have several black students been hounded out of Tartu in recent years, I have personally seen a black man get knocked out in an unprovoked attack.聽 That said, I have a black acquaintance who has been living in Tallinn for a few years who has had few problems and seems quite well adjusted.聽 He is a Yank and they are well-liked in Estonia.

Please i will be applying to Study Integrated Engineering in Tallinn University of Technology. How possible is it to get a part time job with my BSc. in Telecommunication.
