new book written in french

hwt

Hullo,
I am living in Manchester. I have written a book in english and it has been translated into a french abridgement using internet translation services.
I would like a french person to have a look at the french book and give me an opinion on it, i.e. does it read okay, and is it interesting.
I will send you a complimentary copy of the book.

What is the book about? If it isn't interesting will you re-write it? Also, are you paying or just want to give a copy of the book as payment? I have family members living in Paris and other parts of France but if the book is boring I don't think they'd bother reviewing the book for nothing.

I am not looking for someone to review the book, that would entail closely reading all of it. What I want is a french person to read a few pages in the book (reading the Preface would only take ten minutes) and tell me if it reads okay, i.e. is the french good enough to be understood.

The book is about a british government scandal, the english book is to date being held back from public view by the british government.

Sounds interesting to me, being a Brit, but not sure my family in France would be interested although they are dual citizen British too. If the translation services are not excellent then it might be tough reading  :)

Anyway, good luck with that.

Living in France presumably means they are okay with the French language. The French in my book is good as far as I'm concerned. I just want a French speaker to give me his/her opinion.

They have been living in France since 1995 and their french is perfect, probably a lot better than their English. But in anycase I am sure they would not be interested.

If in your position, I would probably try to make some french friends locally or visit the Alliance Française in Manchester. Perhaps put a notice up in one of the universities or colleges there. There must be easier ways of getting a french person to look at your book than offering to post them a copy.

Sorry, just my way of thinking.
