Enterprise sales opportunities in Germany (international experience)

Hi everyone,


I’m currently based in London and exploring opportunities to relocate to Germany. I have 16+ years of experience in enterprise SaaS sales, with a focus on EMEA, North America, and LATAM. My background includes enterprise account development, complex multi-stakeholder sales, and international expansion.


I'd appreciate any insight into the current market for senior commercial or enterprise sales roles in Germany. How realistic is it to find opportunities, and are there specific cities or industries I should focus on?

I don't know this market niche but have to assume that any sales jobs would usually require a high level of German. Even if not absolutely required for a job, one would always be at a competative disadvantage over competitors that speak the local language.

I can confirm that: For any role that has contact with German customers, German language skills are absolutely required! So your chances boil down to: How good is your German? (At least if you want to remain in Sales.)
