How to get refund of my pension fund

zaighi

Hey All,

I was working for last 5 years in a German University. During this time, a sum was deducted from my salary in the name of pension fund "Renteversicherung". Now that i am leaving Germany, and i am not planning to return, I wonder how to get the money refunded.

Thank you

Hi Zaigham,

you can get a refund of your pension contributions but it depends on your nationality and where do you currently live. [commercial link removed by moderators - please read the forum rules!]
Hope that helps,

I am setting a link that covers this subject (German only). It says a that a non-German that leaves after 5 years might be able to get a refund but it depends on their citizenship and the country they go to. I would suggest you contact the Deutsche Rentnversicherung organization to ask.
