Already working at a German company but can i get a Blue Card?

travellerbuddy

Hello, I am currently working in a German company. However, due to my job, I do not have to be in Germany all the time, because I travel often and live in my own country which is a Non-Eu country. In my contract, there is no phrase like "he does not need to stay in Germany".
Under these circumstances, can I initiate the necessary procedure for residence and work permit in Germany? Or can I apply for a Blue Card? In the future, I am thinking of moving to Germany, but I want to start these processes now. But I don't know if it's possible? Can someone with knowledge help me out?

Usually one can get an Inter-company transfer work visa in such a situation, which is what I assume you are having now. Whether you qualify for a blue card depends on if you meet the qualifications which are stricter than just for a work visa. And this subject has been covered extensively on this forum. But unless you plan to stay in Germany, why bother? Even having unlimited residency or a settlement permit doesn't allow one to then stay off for an extended period of time. A blue card will mean one gets such status faster but it is still not permanent - unless one actually nationalize eventually as a German citizen. But you would have to give up your Turkish citizenship to do so.

As far as I know, there is no way to get any residence permit (incl. blue card) without being physically present here. And why would you bother to get a status that involves paying high German taxes and social security contributions if you aren't living in the society that benefits from this???
