The official rules are annually up to 120 days full-time (up to 8 hours) or 240 days half-time (up to 4 hours) or an equivalent combination. Just averaging 20 hours a week doesn鈥檛 mean one might not violate the actual rules. Trying to work over the limits is very risky and one needs to maintain their academic eligibility. It is not uncommon that people come posing as students only to try to work more or less full-time and not actually attend their intended schooling. Good way to get deported and banned. Even if one is not over the limits to work; if they ignore their academics then they will be dropped from university and no longer have legal residency. And they cannot just 鈥渟witch鈥� to a work visa. Not how it works.
