Buying UK car in Greece to drive back

Hi everyone,

I am a post-grad student in Edinburgh holding dual citizenship (UK and Greek). I recently received an offer from a family friend to buy their UK registered car and drive it from Greece to the UK as it needs to be back by around Christmas. It鈥檚 a great deal but I am wondering what level of paperwork would be involved in transferring the title, registration etc. while in another country and getting insurance for travel through Europe.

I have not travelled through Europe by car before and would really appreciate some guidance on what has to be done before making a decision on whether it鈥檚 worth buying here or buying a used car there.

if its a uk registered car then transferring it ik the uk is non-problem聽 if the paperwork is in order - you nees a temporary insutance cover snd probably greek transfwr plates for a month / talk to a specialist imoort / exporter for more details
