Hi, I was wondering about laws in Greece concerning real estate agencies asking for IDs copy for sending basic information. Are they allowed to collect these info, as we know, there's many data scandal, at the moment.

I havnt heard of that and its not a good idea to do so,you are only asking basic information I presume on line,A new rule is if you go to view a property with an agent you must fill in a paper with your name and address and sign but no ID is required.

Thank you for this clarification. I felt something was off. I just asked for the confirmation of the living surface area of one house in particular, and the agent only sent me other ads I never asked for, and also super overpriced, and then replied that if I want more info, I must sent him a copy of my passport.
Hi LauraVR,Oh dear, its very difficult, the buying game and if you tap in..houses for sale..in the area you want you will see more local agents on sites which many agents use, more regional agents. It will take time and patience to find what you want, just use caution at all times and just ask for any information.Be aware of the age of the property and its building standards with regard to earthquakes.
