Maintaining a long distance relationship as an expat in Hungary

Hello everyone,

Moving to Hungary without your significant other can be quite difficult, especially since your partner is an undeniable source of support. This kind of move may require some adjustments from both parties in order to make it a successful one.

What is challenging about being in a long distance relationship in Hungary?

How to maintain an adequate level of communication considering differing schedules and time zones?

How often would you travel to each other聮s location to meet?

How do you manage to still have a social life in Hungary?

What hurdles need to be considered if you have left behind children who are under the sole care of your partner?

Thanks for sharing your experience,
Bhavna

So very true.
My son married a HU lady and lived in HU with her and her mother for over a year.
After she spent most all of his money( yes, she was like that) he decided to go home to the US for awhile , live with us to save money and got himself 2 full time casino jobs.
When he saved enough he brought her out to the uS, her and her 2 dogs.
It had been less then one year that they had parted and by then she had drifted far away mentally.
We could see it within weeks of her arrival that it just wasn't going to work out , she had made other plans for herself while he was slaving away for her.
Thank God for the quicky divorces in Vegas.
Before he moved to HUngary he had brought her to the US for 6 months to see how life was there. Then he tried Hungary, just wasn't meant to be true love, or any sort of love really. Love of money for her ,love of saving someone from him.
She knew what to expect聽 in the US before moving from Hungary, can't say she didn't know and was innocent.
