Hi and welcome to the Forum.
Assuming that your IMC is your registration with the Irish Medical Council, you just need to find a job; a quick Google search will reveal what's available; this will take you to one I've just completed.
If your qualifications are all Indian based, then you need to address this before you can find any job; this will take you to a website I found that seems to describe the process clearly and also has a jobs section.聽 Alternatively, join LinkedIn and reach out to your peers already working in Ireland and ask who has been through the process.
I hope this helps.

I am new to the forum, and thrilled at the prospect of relocating to Ireland.
As a dual citizen with Ireland and the U.S., I have never lived in Ireland before, and my family is hoping to move to the Dublin outskirts sometime later this year.
I now live in Southern California with my family. I am a lawyer with a specialty in health and tech law. I practiced as a trial lawyer (barrister) for over 40 years and my husband is a mediator and employment lawyer. What exactly will we do with our backgrounds once we come to Ireland? While we are old enough and can financially retire, we have too much expertise and energy to let it go to waste. Time will tell if we teach, write, mediate or do something entirely new....
We will be moving with our son-in-law (an economist), artist-daughter, two wee grandchildren, ages 5 and 2, and my 95 year-old mom. There will be enough to get us all to relocate and get settled to keep me busy for awhile.
Immediate needs will include the usual necessities in life. Doing an advance scouting trip in June to check out the options.聽 Thank you to all of you in the forum for your posts, which are helpful to us.
Hi.
My name is Tim. My wife and I live in the Hudson Valley, 90 miles north of New York City. We are retired and are considering a relocation to Ireland within the next few years. I have dual citizenship with the USA and Ireland. My ancestors were from Cork and Kerry, and I spent four months in Dublin during college, which was 50 years ago. We are planning a trip for September this year, hiking for a week in Galway and Connemara. If that comes off, we may visit Dublin and Cork to start checking out potential places to live. I'm looking forward to learning a lot here at Expat.
Thanks.

Hello,
I am a practicing doctor from Pakistan with experience in paediatric medicine and paediatric emergencies.
I am looking for career enhancing and relocating opportunity, to settle for good in Ireland with my family.
I have been in contact with recruiting teams and also applied individually for job posting but haven't got any helpful feedback or opportunity as yet. Still hoping to find one and learning from the expats guide too.

Hi and welcome to the Forum.
My advice would be to go back to those who interviewed you and ask for some feedback (good or bad) on why they didn't take you further into the process, and then work on those specific issues.聽 In addition, the Irish Health Service (HSE) have established the National Doctors Training & Planning (NDTP) organisation to help in this matter, they have issued an online guide on how to gain employment with them; this will take you straight to it, please read it all and use the wealth of information it provides to help you move on.
I hope this helps.

Hi Julien,
I hope you鈥檙e doing wonderfully! I鈥檓 reaching out as a real estate agent who鈥檚 been enjoying life in Berlin for the past eight years. I鈥檝e had the joy of working with many Irish clients looking to invest in properties here!
I鈥檓 eager to expand my network and connect with even more potential investors interested in the German market. If you have any friendly tips or strategies for effective outreach, I would love to hear them!

Hello everyone!
The decision has finally been made鈥攁fter about ten exploratory trips to Ireland, we have decided to move abroad by spring 2026.
We are a family of three. I have been a real estate agent in France for 14 years, and I also hold a degree in teaching French as a foreign language.
My husband will be freshly graduated as a nursing assistant in December 2025. We have a little boy who is 4 years old.
My parents, young retirees, will also be joining us!
I鈥檓 thrilled to participate in this forum, which I鈥檓 sure will be full of interesting encounters and valuable information!
Thank you all!

Welcome
If you have any particular questions, please start a fresh topic and ask away. Good news is that as you are French, you dont need a visa.
Do you have an idea of where you would like to settle down?

Hello! Yes, my ease of immigration is definitely a real advantage鈥 Even though there are always a few administrative things to take care of, like getting my husband鈥檚 diploma equivalency, etc., etc.
That鈥檚 really the key point鈥 We would prefer the west and north of Ireland, such as Sligo or Galway, possibly Limerick or County Kerry. But I鈥檇 like to avoid Cork and Dublin鈥
I鈥檒l start by going there on my own next spring to begin my job search.

Hello everyone!
We are Daniela and Ralph, originally from Germany and currently living in Portugal. After several years here, we are now preparing to move to Ireland, most likely to the Cork area. In October 2025 we will spend a whole month there to explore the region and take first steps for a longer stay.
I (Daniela) have a background in healthcare, hospice work and writing, while Ralph worked as a neuropsychologist and is now retired 鈥 but still active as a writer. Together we publish articles and a book project on psychology, health and near-death experiences.
Beyond work, what really matters to us is finding a new home in Ireland with social connection and a sense of community. We would love to exchange experiences with others who are on a similar journey or have already made the move.
Looking forward to meeting you all!
Warm greetings,
Daniela & Ralph
