I鈥檓 planing to come to Ireland from SRI Lanka ( non EU country) under student VISA. Now my age is 32 years. Are there any possibilities to obtain long term residence visa. Pls guide me

Hi and welcome to the Forum.

In general no; by definition work and student visas are short-term and you always have to consider that at the end of your visa, you may have to go home.

That said, some students get a really useful degree in a subject that is in great demand and can't be filled by local applicants, those people will almost certainly be able to extend their stay.聽 The Irish Government have recently introduced a list of those professions they deem as being classified in the shortage list; this will take you there.

So, be really careful in your degree choice and make sure you get really good numbers and you'll improve your chances of being able to stay.
