Hi Sarah, where about in Italy are you travelling to?

hello lisa well Rome, Milan, Florance and Venice

Are you gonna move between the cities by public transports (e.g. trains) or you driving?

This period of the year is ideal to visit the cities, as the summer is about to finish and it's not really really hot anymore. Plus the days are still nice and quite long.

About the info why don't you try to have a look at this web sites first?


When you arrive in the city you can alway search for some local "ufficio turistico" to get more info from the people working there for maps and suggestions..

Any huge red flags? I've been reading that u shouldnt speak English!! Is that offensive?? What are other things we should avoid?

Please speak english and tell Italians they should learn, if they don't want to speak. I think in the main cities you shouldn't have big problems with the language but still can happen that someone doesn't speak.

Be careful to prices when you sit in very touristic places (eg Piazza San Marco: I know that a coffe can be really expensive) but apart from that I can't think anything offensive to tell Italians.

oh well avoid remembering them politics related things if you can...

Haha politics is offensive wherever u go :p I wrote down some basic Italian lines but I think I sound funny, I'm sure I'm reading them wrong :p

What about shopping (every woman's dream) any recommendations?
Overall what are your faviourate places in Italy?

mmm I think you can have lots of fun in Via Condotti in Rome and in via Monte Napoleone in Milan. Only thing is money will fly easily especially in these streets as here there are really expensive shops. Someone say Rome is better than Milan for shopping as it's cheaper, but I'm not an expert in this, someone from Milan and Rome should help I think.

To be fair with you I think there are so many places in Italy, the North has really good cities and lakes regions, the Central part nice relaxing landscapes, the South beautiful seas... food is different from region to Region but really nice pretty much everywhere... !
