To work legally, you must first secure a job offer from an Italian employer who will apply for your Nulla Osta (work authorisation).

Can you guid me how and where to get a work permit from an Italian employer while living in Pakistan? Or can i visit there on a Schengen visa for searching jobs and interviews to secure a work permit than apply for work visa. Is it possible?

You have to find an employer willing to employ you, and use the internet to find jobs that are suited to you.

Thanks for your time and guidance.

Hii, I鈥檒l be honest with you, because it鈥檚 better to know how things really work before making any plans.

Coming to Italy on a Schengen visa to look for a job is generally not a good strategy. You鈥檙e not allowed to work with that visa, and most employers won鈥檛 hire someone who doesn鈥檛 already have work authorization, because the process is complicated and limited by quotas. In practice, companies prefer people who are already in Italy with the right documents or EU citizens.

The usual path is to find an employer while you鈥檙e still in Pakistan. That employer has to apply for your work permit (Nulla Osta), and only after that you can apply for the visa. The difficult part is that this system depends on specific quotas and timing, so it鈥檚 not always easy or fast.

If you really want to try, focus on realistic sectors where foreign workers are more commonly hired and try to improve your Italian at least a bit, because it helps a lot. Also be very careful with anyone promising easy jobs and cheap accommodation, because there are many scams around this topic.

Italy is possible, but it requires patience and a proper plan.
