WHAT TO DO THIS WEEK-END??
If you'd like to go to Ruffano (30 miles from Lecce towards south) on the 6th from 6pm is going to be celebrate "MARU", the hottest fest ever!!!
Peppers from around the world, endurance contest (anyone can partecipate), many cultural events around peppers, tastings, local food and wine, many stalls where you can buy different kind of spicy and "proper" food from (friselle, conserve, taralli, salami and so on...),but also you can enjoy spicy ice cream, spicy crepes and on top of this the "associazione pasticcieri salentini" would show you "live" the whole process to make the well known "pasticciotto", of course, spicy for the occasion; also known as "Obama", the dark "pasticciotto" is filled with chocolate cream with a tiny hot and spicy liquid heart of dark chocolate!
The moroccan comunity will prepare some aubergine and sardines fish-ball and moroccan tea.
Different music spots around this fest: a violinist will go from irish聽 to "klezmer" to finish with "pizzica".....
a guitarist will play italian music you'll love.... a dj set project named "Beirut World Beat" will impressed you with remakes of music from the Arab Middle East, North Africa, Iran, India, Greece, Turkey, the Balkans, Eastern Europe and Andalusia. Ballet and theatre will enchant you,
You can buy "real" pizzica handcrafted tambourine and organic decorations and wreaths (peppers, garlic, spices, leaves, ...) and lots of other things I cannot even remember!
entertainment for kids is also guaranteed.
