i highly recommend this bar to everyone: q42.lu/
this is my favourite place.
first of all, you can play pool and quietly talk there, and not just stand around with your beer in a crowd, not being able to talk.
secondly, the bartenders all speak english, so it's not a problem if you don't yet speak french.
and the atmosphere is generally nice. they play nice music, and if you're a fan of sports, you can watch sports on a big screen.
we go there once a week with my friends, sometimes even more often.

Hey guys, any other references on the BLC? I would be interested in this form of socialising for moms and kids even though I am not British however I can't even access their agenda without being a paid member? Definitely not a way to go...

Hey man, you don't really need to make appointments to get buzzed in grund or clausen. Just go there and pick any bar, the crowd will find you anyway...

Hi Molly,

I have been living in Lux for a couple of months and i am finding it difficult to meet people here! One way to meet english speaking people is to go to the English bars down in thw Grund area of town as there are always people around there!

hey, i am going to live in luxembourg in 3 years.
I need to make friends over the internet first. I want to go there and don't be "blind" about the country and the people.
I saw Umbre's comments and I would like to talk to him about luxembourg if thats possible.

I would like to hear more about the pubs and about the government... work conditions...

:-O Oh wow, i found an internship in Luxembourg and might be moving there in November for 5-6 months. I don't know ANYONE and my French is just kind of ok... It should be the best thing i will ever do, but it's pretty scary. Are people from Luxembourg easy to make friends with??? I'm also definetely renting an apartment with roommates, might help too... I guess.

Great to see some more messages after my post.聽 I was wondering if we should organise another meet up so the new ones of us can get to meet.聽 I was wondering what everyone was doing next weekend.聽 Maybe we could just meet in a park on Sat/Sun, just chill in the sunshine and have some drinks and manage to have some real conversation.聽 Or later in a bar if people prefer, just thought something less formal might work!

Another good way to meet people is on onvasortir - unfortunately it's French speaking, but they post up a lot of events of all types.聽 If any English speaking person wanted to go along with me to something that would be awesome!聽 I'm just scared I'll turn up and they'll all be French.

Be great to get some replies!

I am Sonia ans I just arrived in Luxembourg 3 weeks ago, I have never been here before so it's all new for me. I don't know anyone and I would like to meet people and find friends.
I used to work in England and I am French, so they are my two languages... If anyone would like to meet, would be great.
I have read, in the Liquid we can meet international people on Thursday, is this still on?
