Welcome to the forum, most rentals are for twelve months, in April the busy holiday season will soon be starting and the majority of shorter rentals will be for holiday lets.

You will need to enquire if you can stay here for six months.

What would be the best places to rent on the island?

聽 聽 We are thinking of taking a six month rental from April 2025 in Malta.聽 We are a couple in our mid 70s.聽 My questions are:
Which towns to live in?

Good realtor to show us around.聽 We will be in Malta on a cruise Dec. 6th.聽 We have from 8:00 till 3 pm to look around.

My suggestion is to check out AirBnB places. Many of these places rent out on this platform during the summer season and rent out privately during the winter season. I know this from Munxar-Xlendi on the island of Gozo, but check out Marsalforn as well. Good luck

They were enquiring about Malta not Gozo and if they did decide to look at Gozo I would not recommend Marsalforn.聽 The main problem they need to find out if they are allowed to stay here for six months.

Hi depending on what you would like聽 near the sea or something more inside?

if is near the sea i suggest Mellieha聽

but if you want more calm is siggiewi haz zebbug or rabat mdina or you can try in Gozo is the best and in Gozo anywhere .

They are American so are TCN's.

Bugibba and even if they are TCN's it will be not a problem to rent a flat for 6 month (which is the maximum)

聽 聽 -@GozoMo with a short-stay-visa yes, a long-stay-visa can extend this for one country (you only can't travel within the schengen area that easy)
