Regular Expat blog meet up
Hope to see you on Wednesday evening @beach
Just arrived yesteday.
Must get my mini BBQ for the sausages.
Cheers MC
feel free to bring a mini BBQ. Most of us bring ready made food and drinks to avoid the hassle of actually having to grill.
There is plenty of room to position a little grill though -)))
At the moment the water temperature is perfect and there are no jellies. I hope it doesn't change.
Check out post #176 and arrive after 7 pm so some early birds will be there. THe group gets bigger as the evening goes on.
Look forward to seeing you
Cheers
Ricky

If you have a problem finding us call me on:

Thanks Ricky, I am sure I'll find it/you guys - see you all later!
Will get to next Wednesdays meet up.
Did many turn up.
yes, we were a nice number and had fun!
We will be meeting next week again, as every week until October.
Several others who said they were coming didn't turn up but that is ok. But there is no obligation anyway)))
Cheers

Jayjust to remind everybody that we are meeting on the beach seafront in Sliema as every Wednesday from 7 pm onwards.
Check out previous posts for the exact location near Exiles.
Just bring your own food and drinks. It's a great group-))
Look forward to seeing you all as usual.
Ricky
Facing the sea, is it on the left or the right hand side of Exiles?
On the Tower Road promenade there is an old stone watchtower (Torri) just on the corner above Exiles.
To the right of the tower is a flight of steps going down to the rocky beach. At the bottom of the stairs keep to your right and head for a shallow rock pool.
That is where you will find us!
Come a bit after 7 ....then you will not be the first to arrive -)))
See you and anybody else interested there. It's every Wednesday until Autumn.
Cheers
Ricky
Fortunately we at least found each other and had a nice chat.
After waiting around for a while and eventually having to accept the fact that no one else showed, we decided to join the other Expat group at Biancos.
Sadly, upon arriving there after a 15 minute walk, we were told that no one else from the Expat group had shown up!
What a bummer.....but again, the 3 of us had a great night on our own.
Perhaps we will get lucky and see some of you next Wednesday?
we were there from 6.45 to around 10 pm! About 8 of us yesterday... plus one dog.
I'm sorry that both groups didn't realize that they were supposed to be together! I was looking out for Newbies but for some reason it didn't seem to help! Where you there before 7 ?
I did leave a phone number on the thread in case of difficulties!
We'll be there next Wednesday again as every week. The group size varies from week to week and usually starts at 7 with a few and then more arriving later.
I'll organize a flag on a small pole to identify the group for future Newbies. It will probably be an England flag -))) as that is the only one I have. So look out for it next week.
Cheers
Ricky
That's amazing, I really don't know how we could have missed you. We even asked the few people around if any of them was from the expat group.....we stayed there from about 7:15 to 8.00, and then we gave up on it and left for Biancos.
The flag solution sounds like a really good idea, we even talked about that yesterday.
And yeah, we will definitely try again on Wednesday.
Cheers
Mike
We were the other 2 that turned up and met Mike last night and I did actually see what I thought was a family with a dog on the rocks!聽 We even said it wouldn't be the group as everyone looked to familiar with each other. It was the Collie that we spotted.聽
The flag idea is perfect as it will be so easy to spot and we don't have to worry about asking groups of people are they the expat group.聽
We will come back next Wednesday and try again.聽 The main thing is last night wasn't wasted as we met Mike and had a really lovely evening and great conversation.聽 It will be good to do that again with other new people next week too.
See you there soon.
-)))))))))))
That's exactly what we are ! A great Expat family with regulars who know each other really well and Newbies nearly every week who are always just as welcome and most become 'family' very fast -)))
The collie is Lizzie and from Salzburg and is well behaved ...and loves carrots and cucumbers ...and anything else too -))) So Lizzie counts as Expat too.
Look for the 'flag' next week , it is already sitting here so I don't forget it.
Cheers
Ricky
PS The group size changes from week to week . anything between around 10 to more than 25 , depending on what other events are on and work schedules.
we will be on the beach beneath St. Julians Tower in Sliema near Exiles on Wednesday at 7 pm .
I will be flying an England flag but any other flag donations are welcome! We can fly more than one .......
Look forward to seeing regulars and all Newbies who might have missed us in the previous weeks. I've heard that many of our female regulars are opting for Jonny Logan on Wednesday but the rest will still be on the beach -)))
And it will be hot ...so the beach will be the best location. If you come early swimming is a good option to cool down and relax.
I guess i can't compete with JL ! -)))
Cheers
Ricky
there is an e-mail list but I do not send out an invitation every week through the list as we are always there at the same place on the beach. If and when we change location or something else important needs to be communicated I'll send out and e-mail. The next e-mail will probably be sent out to inform that the summer is over and that we are moving indoors. But that won't be until October/November.
Send me your e-mail through PM and I will add you.
The age range can be from 20 to 65 , sometimes more to the around 30 's sometimes more 40-50 . It changes every week.
Cheers
Ricky
I've been passing there on my way home from work but today I'll pass there a bit earlier
Anyone thinking about going there earlier than 7 or bored and up for a coffee near by exiles around 5.30ish?
Andre
I'll be there around 6.30 for a swim as it is quite hot but 5.30 is too early for me.
Maybe somebody else will contact you for a coffee.
Chers
Ricky
hope to be there next week although dont think ill do paceville afterwards! Or maybe. Thanks again Ricky for your dedication on the forum (and so many others)Jay. (Julian)
Is there some young people like me? (22 years old)
we meet at and after 7 pm at the designated spot on Wednesdays. The age range is from 20 to 60 but those attending change every week. So you might be the youngest but maybe not !
We never know who is coming...but all are welcome and have fun -)))
See you tomorrow! As of today the water is fine and no enemies(jellyfish) so if you come early you can swim.
See you tomorrow.
Ricky

See you there

PS : Swim is also possible after midnight hahaha

(....hmm really? I thought Malta's sea was known by its whales and piranhas !)
Ricky you said to me there is also a meeting every friday evening at Surfside, right? I found nothing on Facebook

Anyway, I'll go having a look tonight.
If someone have confirmation of appointement, please let me know here or by PM

we will be meeting on the beach in Sliema below it-Torri near Exiles tomorrow evening at 7 pm and onwards.
There is a chance of thunderstorms and rain tomorrow so if it happens to rain tomorrow evening or the weather is otherwise bad we will move to or be at the it-Torri restaurant and bar just above our meeting place instead.
Otherwise I will be at our usual spot with the traditional flag -))
See you tomorrow.
