Hello...

DevorahK

... I'm about to complete a TESOL course and I would like to relocate to Warsaw.

Any other English teachers with experience and tips?

Cheers,

Dee

Welcome on the forum Dee ;)

DevorahK

Thanks Yud!

I'm very excited about making my new home in Warsaw.

It's still in the planning stages and I welcome all suggestions and tips :)

I've already come across a wealth of information - thanks to everyone for posting.

What areas of Warsaw are recommended to live?

Deepfern

Hello Devorah,

Well, Warsaw is a small city.  The places to live are of course determined by budget.  The places closest to Centrum are Śródmiesjcie, Mokotów, or Powisle.  You can stay in Żoliborz or Bielany for a greener area that is just about 30 min by tram from the center (12 by subway), or in the vast residential districts in Ursynow or Natolin.

Check gumtree.pl or gratka.pl for places to rent.  for the places close to the centre the price is > 50 złoty per month per sq metre.

There is a friend of mine from S.A. who lives in Wola.  She's of Polish origin and has moved back here.  She misses Jo'burg!

Deepak

Kurach07, is jy Afrikaans? Nie, man! Hoe gaan dit met jou? Ek is nie 'n Suid-Afrikanse meisie nie maar ek is hier vanaf 1995. Ek kan nie die taal praat nie maar ek verstaan a bietjie. Ekskies vir die foute ek het gemaak... :p

Armand

Hi DevorahK and kurach07!

As this is the anglophone forum can you write in English so that others members can understand please?

Thanks and regards
Armand

DevorahK

Hi Armand,

We were just saying hi in Afrikaans since we've got the South African connection, that's all.

Have you any suggestions for the best areas to consider living in around Warsaw?

Thanks,

Dee

kurach07

Hoe haan dit bro?:D

relax Armand, we live in a global community now.

Armand

Hi kurach07!

This is just for every member to understand. For example if you give useful information and others don't know the language they won't have the same infos.
Anyway maybe there will be an Afrikaans version of the forum in the future ;)

Regards
Armand
