Beachcams not working anymore?

I assume that many of you know the website which allowed to have a live looks at a large number of beaches all over the country. This was really great to find out how the situation actually is, before strating to travel to the beach.

For a few days (in my case) I now get a message saying聽 "A transmiss茫o de imagens da presente Live Cam sofreu altera莽玫es t茅cnicas que visam o cumprimento do RGPD". Is anybody on the forum able to explain what has happened and why it might be that I cannot see the live video anymore?

They are doing "technical works" in the beachcams:

RGPD = General Data Protection Regulation

@JohnnyPT I am confused. The article was from 2020. How would those works be related to "no live-cam" in late 2023? The other thing you mention is a worry, because it seems that I am being protected without having been asked whether I want to be protected. This is really very annoying.

Well, I don't know many details about that, but most of the news on this subject dates back 2020. They want to protect the people who appear on the beachcams ....

@JohnnyPT I now sent an email (English and Portuguese) to the beachcam team and hope to receive a reply and explanation what is going on. If these cameras were not accessible anymore then this would be a real shame.

I just tried 2.

Both worked

I've tried several of them. They all work. Maybe you'll see less sand & people than before....

@TGCampo, Then let us know their feedback to your email.

Thanks to all for trying and letting me know. The issue was related changes by meo in combination with my ad-blocker. When the ad-blocker is turned off, I can see the video.

Today I received an email from the Beachcam Team that confirmed the above. I guess this thread can be closed now.
