find someone who hires you on papers parttime in a company and so you haver also health insurance

Thanks, I have requested quotes from the companies advertising on here and they are all about the same, @250 - 300 euros a month, can anyone suggest any cheaper options ?

@Stefan Dreher

Unlikely this one to happen. By the new laws, even if you're hired part time, the employer needs to pay taxes from the minimum full rate salary.

One useful legal hack for foreigners living in Romania: even if you are not employed here, you may still be able to access the Romanian public health insurance system. With the public health insurance you can accesses even privet clinics  with minimal or no co-payment, here is explained:

If you have legal residence or domicile in Romania, you can usually register voluntarily by submitting the Single Tax Declaration to ANAF and paying the annual health insurance contribution.

For 2026, the cost is about 2,430 RON per year, roughly €465 per year at the current exchange rate.

After that, you can become insured through CNAS and access public healthcare services in Romania, under the normal referral rules.

Simple, legal, and very cost eficient.
