I am 32 years old married man and from germany. I am currently seeking for new opportunities in the field of SAP Authorization & Security at a management level. Currently I am working as a teamleader for severel years now and with extensive experience in managing SAP security for large organizations,

My question now is if there are good opportunities for SAP Jobs as a german expat and which range of Salary is realistic?

Thanks in advance

This may not be the appropriate forum to seek employment opportunities in the specified domain. I would recommend searching for employment agencies in Bahrain to learn more, and LinkedIn is also a good starting point, i am sure if anyone on the forum has inputs they would share it here.

Good luck!

Hi logicalindian,

I am not searching for work. Sorry for that if this wasn't clear. I am searching more for advice and trying to analyze if it is worth the effort or not.

Okay, if someone on the forum possesses the information about the domain you mentioned, they will definitely respond.

Good luck!

I am not an IT expert but will respond from my extensive time spent in senior management (C-level) in large businesses.

What you describe is something that is managed usually at a centralized level in large organizations.  Bahrain is a very small market so most large organizations here, are either multinationals or regionals which have regional HQs (with back offices) located outside of Bahrain.  Which means that for your specific skill set, Bahrain is not the place to be.  For larger local organizations, they will either outsource or contract services from offshore firms (and I know of many who do this) or at the max, will have small in house teams which will be predominantly local citizens.

Then you are looking at tech firms / consultancies / providers which usually don't set up hubs in Bahrain and now, not even UAE as everything is moving to Saudi.  The ones who have been here for a long time, over the last 2-3 years have announced closure of HQs and relocation to Saudi.  And in Saudi, again, you have significant competition from locals in the IT industry.   Being a westerner nowadays is no longer an advantage.  Gone are the days when the GCC countries used to over pay western talent just for the "perceived" credibility...............post the economic crash in 2008, over time, cost has become a consideration and an asian/arab expat with the same qualification and half the cost is usually preferred.

I dont say all this to deter you but just to highlight the fact that you need to do a lot of research and look in the right markets.
