There are a lot of expats in Seef. I'm sure you will make friends quickly. Listing interests is always useful but may just come out in conversation when people message you.

Hi Patrick, welcome to Bahrain, I've only been here a week but everyone is very friendly and helpful. We spent a week in seef, it's a great area, if I didn't have kids I would live there. Let us know if there is anything you need.

As someone who's been living in Seef for the last 9 months, I can say it's a nice place, yes, but not much happening here apart from the malls. So if you wanted some more lively action, you better look for someone else. However if you are driving, then nowhere is far in Bahrain.
