It depends on your contract , if they added diplomatic clause which bound you to stay for 1 yr聽 and you can vacate earlier only in case of emergency they its difficult , in that case the only solution i see is to contact your broker聽 and if arrange someone else in your place then your landlord should allow you to go .

As far as its possible , try to stay away from these clauses while making rental contracts and insist on 1 month notice.
I too think you are bound by the one year contract, unless you are leaving the country.

Akhil004's suggestion of finding some else to take over the remaining period may be a good way out.
Yes it would be to leave the country
If you are leaving the country then its straightforward. Just inform the landlord and show a copy of the cancellation of your residence permit. Best wishes.
What do I do to cancel my residence permit Farhaz? My children and I are here on my husbands works visa and he would be staying here however will not require a villa this size, I am hoping they will be understanding about this as we have said that if any other properties more suited for one person he would consider. We would be leaving 4 months before the lease is due to end. Thanks for all responses so far I do appreciate it :)
So are you leaving the country or do you just want to change the villa you are living in?
No it would be to leave the country , hubby would be staying in the country though :)
Then just show the letter showing the cancellation of your visa, or a letter from work saying that your husband's job is ending. This should be good enough.
He would be staying in Bahrain to work
Today i Just went through this article. I think its related to your question.

It will be more helpful if someone from seniors may answer your question :)
Hannahmack2012 - you could still show your's and the childrens' visa cancellations. Perhaps a chat with the landlord about the proposed change and explaipnation that a huge villa would no longer be required just for a single occupant. Maybe just say that your husband is moving to company accomoodation? All depends on the landlord and the nature of their relationship with tenants.
Thanks we have contacted the company in charge so just waiting on them getting back intouch thanks everyone :)
Please let us know how it goes and how you resolve this matter, so that we can all benefit from聽 your experience. Best wishes.

This is indeed good news. And glad to see that good landlords still do exist. Thanks for letting us know.

Best wishes to all of you.
I took an apartment for rent on the 4th of may 2014 and paid 2 months rent as advance. My visa is getting cancelled by 23rd of June. I requested my property manager to cancel the lease. He is asking me for 2 months rent or else I will have to pay full rent for the remainder of the lease period. I have lost my job here and I have already communicated to the property manager one month in advance. I don't understand why I have to pay 2 months rent. Can I just walk away? after handing over the keys to the watchman.
If your visa is being cancelled and you are leaving Bahrain, you shouldn't pay the 2 months rent. If you gave a month's notice to your landlord, then everything should be fine. A letter from your company's HR explaining you are leaving Bahrain should be enough.

It all depends on how your contract for the accommodation is written. If you have the diplomatic clause in there then you are okay. It should state that on losing your job you can vacate the property at any time giving 1 months notice (which will take you to the end of your 2 months down payment) If there is no diplomatic clause then you could struggle and may need the help of your company HR and maybe even a lawyer. But on the upside, either way, show your landlord proof that you have lost your job and be very, very strong with him. They will all try to take your money and threaten you with all sorts of things. If you are still worried (and it's obvious your rent is paid) then jump on a plane and get the heck out of here. Not the best advice in the world but at least you get to keep your money. Let us know how you get on - I'm happy to look through your contract and advise you more thoroughly once I've seen it - Lease management is part of my job

If Diplomatic clause is used and rent is broken then what is the implication of this action if a person returns to Bahrain with new Permit Visa? Will he still be liable for the old rental landlord?

If anyone has the diplomatic clause pls share.
