Just as a heads up for anyone who orders their alcoholic drinks from BMMI or Aftrican Eastern, the prices have nearly doubled on most items.聽 My delivery guy said the government has started charging them extra so the costs have to be passed on to the consumer.

Also, prices in bars / restaurants have rocketed too.

Well, they've reduced the limit there now too!
Only one bottle per person and a crate of cans.

That's true. Reduced to one piece per pax. Makes more sense to buy a 50BD return ticket to Dxb really !

Yes the government have increased duty by 125% on any alcoholic drink entering Bahrain. which means that prices will nearly double in relation to this. I would say take advantage of the duty free in the airport or drink less but that is a bit far .

There are apparently other increases in costs on electric and water in the next year with plans expecting prices of these to quadruple (x4) in the next 12 months.
