Resignation - current contract notification period

I had resigned from my current job, and send the resignation by registration post. But as per my current contract notification period is 3month..so I am I able to move to new job in one month or need to wait till 3month. Please advise

In my opinion, its depend on your employer, they may hold you till three months and pay your salary or release you within a month, but you cannot join to new job until obtaining a no objection
