there are two types of bloggers out there; those that hide behind nicknames and aliases, and those that write under their real names, with their real addresses, phone numbers etc.

Depending on which group you belong to, u may not want other people knowing who you are.

me personally, run a Google search and i'll come up, as I am

i even use the same nickname on every website, cept this one, apparently it was taken (stupid young me must have registered a long time ago, and i forgot about it

)

there are plenty of bloggers gatherings going on DIG, i suggest u use twitter to scope them out

more bloggers on there than here.

I know there are tons of bloggers in Kuwait since I got my initial info about this place on those blogs.

Anyway if there would be a meet up there should be a theme to talk about..probably like a seminar, workshop or whatever so you can encourage people to join.

I would certainly entertain meeting everyone... It sounds like a good place to make some friends.. just I work all the time and so far I haven't been able to make a meeting. Please make it in the evening like 7:30-8ish time frame.

ok i am down for that, i'm a blogger, and im pro meeting other bloggers!

the most important thing in becoming a blogger (write this down @Salue

) is to bring something ORIGINAL to the blogosphere!

im tired of blogs where peeps just repost news as is, as if i cant get it off BBC or HuffingtonPost myself? come on people!

And oh, English please

Btw SCG time request is fine by me, so now we have a time, and the date would be better served as friday, where everyone is off, or thursday, wednesday, monday.

anyone to finalize? we're almost there, we just need someone to put the time and date together

And as legacy said, give out time and date and people will be there, i'd say weekend? Day time for less traffic and people meeting place marina mall consdering the elweather is good or the hangout cafe in salmyia, salmyia best place to meet at its like the downtwon of kuwiat?

It is a very good idea.
I have been in Kuwait for about 2 years now with my little family (wife and son) and we have no friends at all.Social communication here is very difficult and the diversity of people's origins and backgrounds makes it very hard to understand them and socialize.
It would be great if we can arrange a gathering (persons and families ) in a certain place to get known to each other and have fun, enjoing the outdoors and give a chance for kids to know each others and play together. i thing this gonna help many of us.
Let's give a try.

I think it would be great because so many of us are good people from all walks of life even if you very little english or a little Arabic we can work it out so all single people women and men and family members we can make a difference and help other people to open up.

since the numbers are bound to be HUGE, i suggest a place that can encompass such a large gathering, say, Marina Beach? ud be within walking distance of coffee shops galore, as well as have enough open space to sit and talk without the need to reserve chairs etc.

in business studies back in highschool i read about a coffee shop somewhere in the world called "imaginary", u go in and are given empty glasses and plates, and u pay something like $5 on weekdays, $10 on week ends. if ur really famished they'll give u water. the proprietor discovered that people do not eat or drink in coffee shops they are only there for the socialising. so, socialise away from food

Great... I admit... I don't know too much here.. but I guess we could all meet somewhere and have dinner or even just coffee.

Possable Where:
1.) Anyone like Japanese food? There is Benihana at Avenues that I think would be a good environment for both entertainment and food. Though it is a little pricey. But I am open for suggestions. Man I wish there was even the slightest hint of a bar here...(wishful thinking)

2.) Golf anyone? Before it gets too hot! I'm not a big golfer or anything having only played like 5 times in my life... but I think it's a good to get outside and it has a lot of time to socialize

Possable When:
聽 Sat. March 31st聽 Totally open for suggestions here though too!

Other factors:
Everyone's budget. Mine personally doesn't have one. But we can't all be so lucky right?

Everyone's schedule. At the moment, I'm working night shift from 11pm to 7am. I'll worry about sleep when I'm dead so up for just about anything during the day.

Hmm, i think Benihana has been ostracized as a result of their "law suit" against one of Kuwait's top bloggers, what would u say to Kuwaiti food? A bit of local tradition, theres a great restaurant who's name I forget out in Salmiya, its the last right before the signal on the gulf road, before the scientific center.

Golf,, i've never played that one :S how about soap soccer out on the Gulf?

In terms of timings, i like the way u think

I'll rest when im dead. early morning gives less traffic and smaller queues, hence its opportune. + its best to enjoy the mornings before they become too hot to handle!

I know nothing of a law suit, but if it聮s not good for you聟 that聮s ok. A would kind of like to go to place where we can sit outside聟 while it聮s still nice out. Especially if we do it at 10am as diarynigracia suggested.

I聮m surprised you have never played golf. Then perhaps we could just go to the driving range and hit some balls聟 very good for releaving stress. And it聮s eaqually good for getting us all outside. You聮d be surprised how much fun it is. I have no idea what soap soccer is, but I聮m guessing it聮s a joke?
