Cheque book

Hi Forum members,


I recently came to muscat before 2 months or so.

Opened my saving account in one of the bank here in muscat.

My query is that, they are not giving me cheque book and telling it is not available on saving account.

So, do i have to open a new current account, just to get the cheque book.


P.S - Please note cheque book is required to give cheques to my owner, where i am staying as tenant. Actually he is asking some post dated cheques as guarantee.

Practically all banks in the GCC, only give cheque book on current accounts and not savings.
