Purchasing Iphone from US

Hi guys, a quick question.

Does US IPHONE work here in saudi? I see there is difference in model number for Saudi and USA.

One of my friend is coming over from USA and I want him to bring Iphone 5 S for me, however not sure where it would work here or not. Never tried that. I am sure, it has something to do with the operating GSM bands, however not sure of the exact technical stuff involved.

Would appreciate your kind help in this regard.

Yes if they aren't carrier locked or CDMA.

In fact those are better than the AE models as FaceTime works on them. Remember, Jarir used to sell iPhones with FaceTime for 300 SAR more than the usual one? Those were they :)

ok, someone told me LTE could be an issue.. do you have any update on that.
Gold one is already sold out :( apple is saying it will be available to ship in october only.

Oops, I forgot about LTE. I hope someone else would weigh in on that.

you can use it here, they haev S4 lte.

but GL with the 2% coverage of lte

By the time, I was satisfied, got to know the gold one is sold out on apples website. Not sure, when Jarir is going to have it.
