Hi All,

Female ...and coming ALONE!!! First timer in SA.

I took up a job offer in Khobar area, in a compound, but soooooo paranoid about the rules outside of it, that i already feel as if i was a criminal. (Guys i heard ur making a good living by being hired as a Mohram/Chaperone!! i'll need ur services soon lol)

I don't wana die out of boredom & loneliness coz i won't last there a month..forget about the good package mate!

How is it to go out of the compound alone (as a woman) and how easy is it to go exploring other cities like Jeddah?

I hope i'll make enough friends to not feel lonely, but if we go out on girlie shopping or discovering trips are we gona be dealt with suspiciously?? and perceived badly?

Any suggestions, comments, infos, proposals lol,...welcome

I am female and live now in Khobar. I am egyptian and work as a teacher. living in Khobar is really wonderful. you will find everything that you need and you will make a lot of friends. Living in Khobar for a single female.. well its not too bad considering the fact that there are a lot of places you can be at. and the compounds and such usually have a lot of functions going on.

It will be a cultural shock. yes. But then you will get used to it. and hey, this entire site is dedicated to helping you adjust to the聽 life in this country..
take the plunge and try it out,

Second, do not worry you will not feel bored As for the shopping alone will not bother you one.

As for the parameters of the city, it is easy to identify them and access it at any time.

If Ohabpti Go and explore other cities such as Jeddah, Riyadh, there is no problem.

A person may be you go and Ante and your girlfriend or your friend in terms of security situation is very secure from possible to stay out of the house enjoing at 4:00 AM

Hope you are doing fine..I don't know if you are already arrived here in SA, but any ways if you still not yet , i would like to tell you that I'm sure you well enjoy the experience, because there are a good number of foreigners that share you the same situation and experience, every thing is cheap and easy to get ( Except Al chocoholic Drinks =P)and people are willing to help all the time..聽 If you need a guided tour or any further inquires, don't hesitate聽
