Can anyone tell me where or when you ladies meet? How often to get together? Thanks.
heyy gals. im new here and would love to meet new people...is there any sports gathering like tennis, etc. going on?
I would like make some friends with Saudi local women. But they are all covered up even with their faces. I don't know how to start a conversation. Today I went to a small park for a walk and saw a few woman sat together. Their kids were playing around. They were very quiet. I really wanted to say "Hello" to them, but dare not start. I was not sure if it was OK or polite to talk to them. So I hasted and walked around the little park many times but didn't say anything.

I am not a Saudi but I know well about thir culture. It's absolutely alright for females to approach other females (locals too) and say "Hello". Without any hesitation, give it a shot and you'll notice they are delighted to see you approach.

I suggest go give them a broad and honest smile and ask "English?". If you get a negative, waive an adieu and move on :)

I appreciate your reply and advice. Thank you very much. I'll try to take the first step by saying "Hello" next time when I walk in the little park.

By the way, where are you from? How long have you been in Riyadh? Your knowledge of Arabic culture is very helpful for us new expats here. Are there any culture exchange groups in Riyadh? I wish I could join one of them.

I've always found Saudi women to be very friendly but it's difficult to form serious friendships because they have so many family obligations.

But don't be afraid!聽 TLL's suggestions are excellent.

Soooo....back to topic.聽

From the discussion, it looks like the group on meetup.com is the primary way to meetup with ladies in Riyadh, is that correct?

If not, please share other ways/groups so that ladies can meet and interact with one another.

Thanks in advance.
Hello Memo,

How are you getting on in your hometown Riyadh? I have been here for two weeks now and I have got used to the routines and the time difference. I like eating Saudi dates very much. They are sweet and taste delicious. The weather at the moment is fine, not too hot yet. I walk in a little park in the morning or sometimes in the evening.

I am trying hard to make some local friends. But so far I haven't found one yet. I am looking for a job too. Anyway, I like staying in Riyadh. It's relaxed and quiet. The lifestyle is very different from that in China. I'll make myself busy by trying to join some expat groups or activities.

By the way, I sent you a private message a week before. My husband also sent one. We hope to get your reply soon.

Best wishes,

Alice
Hello there,
Nice to join this forum :)

I've 1 question and I'm desperate for an answer,
My British wife is living with me in Saudi Arabia,

I'm her sponsor for sure,
We want to invite her 18 yrs old daughter for a visit to Saudi Arabia to stay with us for 3 months something..

Are we able to do that since my wife's daughter is 18 yrs+ now?
she doesn't have a brother/husband/"Mihram" , will this be a problem?

shall I do this invitation or shall my wife do this herself ?

Thank you !
Hello
British nationality is very well respected here.聽 In another word, you should be able easily to get a visiting visa on your behave i believe

Your answer is "visit visa" that you have to apply coz you'll be sponsor of your step-daughter.

Mehram thing is not applicable in this case; so don't you worry.

If possible, talk to your company HR, they must assist in this regard.

yes
@luvmine, a little introduction maybe?;)

Harmonie.

HRGuru is right.

The company who sponsor you will provide you details of the 'visit visa' requirements since they will (usually) process this for you.
