I've done many stupid things in my life but I think this is gonna rank up there.聽 I seem to have lost my Igama (still have passport w/ multiple exit/entry).聽 How much is this gonna cost me?聽 I heard it can take a few months to resolve and get new one.聽 Feedback?

Its IQAMA and not IGAMA

OK, well, talk to your employer so they can get started on the paperwork, you'll have to file a claim with the police.

As for time, I really have no idea. Good luck

I've heard it costs like 4000SAR to replace an iqama.聽 Hope what I heard was wrong cause that's a costly loss.

im really sorry to hear that..
just like what beezer said. inform your employer immediately so they could provide necessary actions for that. but i guess you have to pay for all the expense that it may cost.

i wonder聽 why the passport is with you.in our company, you have to surrender it to your employer then they will give you the iqama in return.
when they process our iqama, they give us a piece of paper, "temporary iqama" thats what they called.
it is like a letter from the company and u can use it just like iqama but as far as i know it is recommended to just stay within the city when u have this. dont even try going outside the city coz it maybe a problem if the police caught u without iqama.

anyways, if your passport is with you that's good. just right after weekends, inform your employer immediately so they can could help you.

Iqama is like part of your body. It should be always with you wherever you go.

Not Good Civ - inform HR Dept immediately - they will give you temporary Iqama...check the washing machine.

Procedures for a Replacement of Lost IQAMA

1. Inform the competent authority or the police passports in places where there is no Passport for the loss of a residence permit.
2. A letter from the employer or head of the family's resident director of the Passport Department, explaining the reasons for the loss of residence permit and the place in which I lost.
3. Present original valid passport and photo copy of the last IQAMA, if any.
4. Fill in the form your loss and is located in the Department of Passports.
5. Accomplish the applicable form.. And match information as it is written in the passport .. And sign the form and stamped the seal of the employer.
6. If the remaining period of lost IQAMA is one year or less, the applicable fee shall be paid for one year (SR 500) and at one of branches of banks licensed to do so.
7. Submit 2 recent photos (size 4cm 脳 6cm).
8. Payment of fees, loss of a fine residence permit (SR 1000).

After completing the required documents and submit the application the applicant must review the management of passports in the next day to receive a residence permit.

We have these igwana's at home - they are lizards with blue heads. They are very beautiful to look at. They live in trees not in holes.

This is a true storey - trust me

The Saudis also have their own brand of Iguana called "DUBB" which is an edible delicacy in these parts. They live in holes. I guess they cant that many trees to climb here. Back home in Sri Lanka we also have another edible variety of Iguana who climb trees as well as burrow into the ground. They are now a protected species and used to be the staple diet of the original Aborigines (Veddahs).

So the Igama could be up a tree or down a hole or even in someones intestines.

Iguanas are all over Mexico.聽 Largest one I ever saw was hanging out of a drainage pipe, high up a wall, sunning himself.聽 Must have been a meter long, including tail.

i saw my first iguana in penang. Mannn, it was a scary sight..considering my phobia for lizard and look alikes..at the same time, the formation looks incredible..

my wife told me she saw these creatures in abundance on the freeways in US...yikes

My brother had an iguana while we were growing up.聽 It frequently roamed the house (when he forgot to return it to its aquarium) and caused no harm.聽

There was one very amusing incident, however. A friend of my mother's, a very large woman,聽 was quite startled when she rounded a corner into the dining room and found the iguana standing there. The woman began to scream and jumped up on a dining room chair, which promply broke and dumped her on the floor, still screaming.

My mother was horrified--we kids ran out of the house laughing hysterically! Ahhhhh, childhood

GOOD NEWS regarding my "Iguana"

Its finally done, renewed for 2 more glorious years in the sand. The guy called me and said "Mission Accomplished" more like the Chilean rescue. Going to collect it in a while. Will relate the saga why it took almost 3 weeks after I have the docs in my hand.

Phew! What a relief....

All my five (5) "Iguanas" were received this morning, extended for two long years.

The old Iqamas and Passports were handed over to the local service company who usually manage all my governmental requirements (since I do not work for my sponsor anymore and am on my own private consulting stint now) almost a month ago.

The jokers submitted the papers using the name of my previous sponsor on the form.

The application was rejected by the Passport office after 3 long weeks in hibernation.

On correction of the current sponsor details and resubmission it took 48 hours to be approved and returned with the renewed Iqamas.

They called on Wednesday evening and daid it was ready for collection on Thursday morning. On visiting their office at around 10 am they said that the Iqamas and Passports were locked in their vault and the "Mudeer" (Manager) had not arrived yet to open the safe. They close at 130 pm on Thursdays. I said "forget it" and went back home and sent the driver this morning to collect same, FINALLY!

And they charged me SR 800 for the service, too.

Its not easy raising Iguanas in KSA....

Musicman, no reason to feel bad about the lost time in raising your Iguanas in KSA considering what we're going through.

Here we are stuck with waiting for Iqama despite having an employer to work for it and our free-lancing friend has managed to get it. Good show sir!

I guess I have good reason to be happy, after all. My biggest concern was that the Passport authorities may reject the renewal on account of my age. However, I think it is only my profession that is keeping the renewal alive since it has still not been classified as one that can be Saudized in the near future.

The anxiety was even more cos I have to have my Medical Insurance renewed before Nov 13 and also that my Bank Accounts will be frozen as soon as the Iqama expires and that would have caused me tremendous distress in disbursing my finances.

I hope I can rest easy for the next 2 years?

I finally got my Iqama re-issued.聽 HR realized time for them to act.聽 HAd to go to Khobar and give them my original passport.聽 Took 1 day, and cost me SR 1,500.聽 Glad that is done.

It didn't.聽 Had my passport with multiple entry/exit so been to Bahrain a few times and back to the US in Dec (lost it back in Sept 2010).聽 Only need one of the two, but helps to keep both of them.

I lost my Iqama 27 Nov when I went to write my Saudi Council exam it took 4 days and SR1020聽 and I had a new one. I think its the power of your company.
