one day when it was Guy Fawks in our country - and I was a small girl and I didnt have much knowledge, my brother lit a cracker and told me to give it to this drunk arse in the street all fallen down - so we went over to him and he lit it and I told him to hold it. He did....my brother and I ran like hell -

And can you imagine how all the 11 fielders in the team, including the bowler and wicket keeper, wanted to go and fetch the ball when it was struck into our neighbors garden all because he had such a cute daughter who never failed to get dressed and watch the game from her side of the fence? Give me back a few hours of those glorious days, please!

Ok, I was ten years old in my final year of primary school. My best friend and i decided it would be fun to sneak out of school during the lunch break and go to the nearby sweet shop....a great idea until we were busted by the head climbing over the fence on our way back in

It was suggested that I stay at home for 3 days to 'consider the inappropriateness of my actions' AND my sweets were confiscated!

Any more??

Now here is a very innocent confession....
I have got this BIG ..No...No...No for ever traveling in cab.
Once i thought ,my driver has missed me so i gathered my courage and stopped a cab with a heavy heart get seated and after 5 min luckily it broke down and suddenly i saw my Office car on the road ,i screamed and stopped the driver and literally jumped out.

I have never told this to m hubby nor i m gonna do this:)He will kill me:P

We had this "book man" on his bicycle who used to visit our home every Saturday morning, loaded with books, novels, magazines and comics (how he managed to pile them up on his rear carriage God only knows). He used to lend us comics, on a read and return basis, for 10 Sri Lankan cents per week. We used to re lend them to our classmates at 5 cents a day and make a quick buck to hit the Sunday morning movie at the Savoy (few blocks away from our home in Colombo), with icy chocks, coke and cashew thrown in. Business was sure booming then!

We had just one 45+ year old lady teacher in secondary school (boys school) in Colombo. What choice did we have? Each time one of us was called up by her to discuss an issue related to something we had submitted we never failed to climb the raised wooden stage on which she sat in order to get a birds eye view of whatever that may have existed behind the low cut blouse she wore under her Saree.

Beggars cant be choosers, they say!

When I was 5 I was given a cricket set and that afternoon it was sunny (for a change) and I asked my friends for a game.
We sorted sides, some of the Dads were there too. I was first in to the crease.
I was bowled first ball, to the horror of my father I pulled up the stumps and ran home in tears.
My father followed me in, took the cricket stuff off me and went back out.

I can not remember the rest of the day, whether I stayed in and sulked or went back out. But I'm not such a bad looser now, but that that depends what I'm playing.

I bunked my college day for my B'day celebration. I got 6 stitches on my head as a B'day gift and to our surprise we were running out of money to pay the doctor bill. 2 of my friends visited college to get some money from other friends and they were caught asking the reason for not been in college. I was shocked by the reason they gave "Anil Soni felt from a giant wheel" and he is admitted in hospital for 3 days.

Didnt we have fun refilling the acid bottles with Alkaline solutions in the chemistry lab at school before the next class came in. Blue litmus never turned red for them.
