All joking aside, I think I understand what arabianprince is getting at:
1: Those that only ever lead
2: Those that only ever follow
3: Those with the flexibility to lead when required and can also adapt and follow
No surprise that I class myself as the third kind as it's the only way to get the best out of any given situation.
