The short answer is that I am a first generation American with Turkish parents.  Born in Bismarck and lived in the USA for almost all of my life except for 3 years in Turkey in my youth, I never considered living abroad.  In 2019, my wife and I visited my mother in Turkey for her 80th birthday.  We both came away enticed by our visit.  Between the doldrums of retired living in the US and the beauty and allure of Turkey, particularly its warm people, we decided to pursue adventure and excitement.  Besides, residing in Turkey provides the opportunity to easily see Europe by car.

How is it that you ended up becoming a Globe Trotting adventurour?  Not many Americans end up in off the trail countries like Turkey.

What is the average monthly rent for a 2 bedroom apartment?
