I am now looking at Kusadasi as it appears that the apartment rentals are lower than Antalya. Because I am in a tight financial situation I want an Apartment in the $350 to $500 range and I am seeing apartments in that range. I am looking for a 2 bedroom 1 bath. To your knowledge do know if this range is also available in Antalya because I still like Antala over Kusadasi. If you can be of any help here I would appreciate it. Would love to be in Turkey sometime in late May or early June.

I'm currently living in Antalya and I rent an apartment about $192 without electricity and water bills. The flat is at good condition and neighbors are very good and nice here/ i met Turkish family and have several friends here. My landlord lives above my flat with his family. the district is really good and safe. A lot parks and playgrounds near my renting apartment/ Also shopping malls, stores and schools. So it's real to find even better flats in Antalya according on your sums of money you are looking for! Turkish people are really nice here! Good luck! Antalya was also one of choices to look at, but decided on a sister city Kusadasu for two reasons. One...the weather is cooler and the humidity level is far less. Tw0....looking at home rental costs in Kusadasi near the beach were 15 to 20 % less for much better interiors.

Since I love to give dinner parties I needed a place where I could comfortably have 15 to 20 people. I found a beautiful 3 bedroom, furnished, separarate large kitchen, huge balconies for entertaining, nice size living room and dining room, overlooking the Aegean sea for beautiful sunrises and sunsets. All for the most incredible price of $520/month. In the USA I would have to pay 8 to 10 times that for the same thing.

I do want to vacation in Antalya as it is a bigger city, and I聽 think it has a lot more to offer then Kusadasi in the way of history, cure and restaurants and hotels.

Right now I have been here for about 8 weeks now, signed a one year re-newable lease, have my 2 year residence card, Tax ID, BANK ACCOUNTS. Now I am just waiting for my fianc茅 from the Philippines to join me.

Hi Dennis, Now that you have been here for awhile and learnt the ropes perhaps i can pick your brain to enlighten me on the difficulties you have had in establishing yourself here, how did you go with health insurance?, I am 70 and finding it difficult to find insurance which also covers covid related illnesses?.

As far as health insurance goes what I have found by experience is that if you need the assistance of a doctor and go to the public hospital, as I did, they will take you in and provide the help you need. As I do not speak Turkish it will be difficult to communicate if you do not have someone to translate for you.no one in the local hospital spoke English. I was lucky enough to have someone to do that.聽 I had to have a catheter inserted, X-rays, ultrasound, blood tests, and a night s stay all for under $150.00. Having a residency card reduced my expenses almost in half.聽

My neighbor who is a health insurance specialist informed me that after I am in Turkey for a year he will be able to help me obtain a good affordable plan. What that will entail I am not sure until I can sit down with him to discuss. When I realized that I could not buy private health insurance because I am over 65 I started to do some research for international insurance coverage, I found the cost to be sky-high. $600 to $800 per month.

This is what I know so far due to my own experience here so far. I would suggest contacting me again in a month or two I might have some additional information by then. If there is anything else you have questions about. I am here to give you my experience about, feel free to ask.

My name is Dennis and I am currently living in Kusadasi, Turkey. I came here about 9 weeks ago. After coming in contact with a young man from Istanbul in the USA I became intrigued by what he told me about life in /turkey. After 8 or 9 months of investigation, I was convinced this was a place I could be happy and retire to. I took a blood move and sold everything I had in the USA and bought a one-way ticket to Turkey to start the next chapter in my life. As it has turned out for me so far It was an excellent choice for me. The money I receive from Social Security is more than enough to allow me a nice life here. I found the people to be warm and friendly. The ones who become overly friendly you have to be careful of. they will try to get as much from you as possible before moving on. I know this from experience, so be very careful as to whom you let into your life. Living here is so much less expensive than in the USA. I have a three-bedroom condo with a great view of the Aegean Sea to enjoy beautiful sunrises and sunsets from my balcony. The cost to rent this very nice furnished condo is less than 8 to 10 times what it would cost me in the USA.聽 A

Hello Ninni. My name is Dennis and I have been in Turkey for close to 6 months. I too was originally thinking about moving to Antalya but found what I think is a better option in Kusadasi. It is also a seaside city for the tourist trade and hosts 600 to 700 cruise ships a a year. I found it to be cooler then Antalya and the humidity is way lower making for very comfortable outdoor activities. Take a look on Google for videos. Rents here are also less expensive if you want to be by the seaside. People here are warm and friendly. Let me know what you think. I have contacts here, lawyer and real-estate people that helped me make a smooth transition at a very affordable cost.
