There are a load of hardware and electrical products suppliers out on the Mussafah industrial area. I don't remember a name off the top of my head, but next time I'm out that way I'll check.

The shop you're talking about is Carrefour but I doubt that carrefour would have those converters. You'd rather check on shops selling electrical appliances.

Thanks for all the suggestions.  The large Carrefour in Marina Mall actually has them rated up to 500 W, and the guy at the True Value in Marina Mall said he could possibly find similar wattage around.  I've looked at some of the small electronic shops as well with no luck so far.

Try Radio Shack, being a US Brand they sell some 110 v appliances with the converter. they might sell you the converter only. They are in Emirates mall. Good luck.

try mussaffah industrial area or jebel ali for sure you'll get what you need.
