Considering a move to Dubai!

Hi everyone,

My girlfriend and I recently spent some time in Dubai and absolutely fell in love with the place. We鈥檙e now considering a move from Kent, UK, and would really appreciate some advice from those already living the expat life out there.

A bit about us:

鈥⒙� 聽 My girlfriend works in event management (large-scale events, concerts, etc.) for a London-based client, and also does freelance interior design.

鈥⒙� 聽 I am a director of a fire & security alarm systems company, specialising in fire alarm systems, AOVs, and extinguishers.

鈥⒙� 聽 We also have two dogs, so any pet-related tips would be hugely appreciated!

We鈥檇 love to hear from anyone who can offer guidance on:

鈥⒙� 聽 The best places to network and meet other expats.

鈥⒙� 聽 Job websites, recruiters, or industry-specific forums (for events/interiors or fire & security).

鈥⒙� 聽 How other Brits have adjusted to life in Dubai.

鈥⒙� 聽 Any tips, pointers, or things you wish you鈥檇 known before relocating.

Naturally, the idea of low taxes is attractive, but it was the lifestyle, weather, and overall energy of the city that really grabbed us. We鈥檙e both very active, we love the gym, running, paddle boarding, kayaking, socialising & partying - so Dubai really seems like it could be a great fit!

Any advice or insights would be massively appreciated. Thanks in advance!
