Moving to Canada from the UK. Where to Start.....?

Me and my wife have been talking about moving to Canada for some time now from the UK, but ill be honest we have no idea where to start or what to do or even who to speak too, can you offer any advice as where to start.

Speak to an immigration consultant. Make sure they are legit. PM me and I give you some contacts. But apart from that you want to lay out a couple of stuff:
- What you going to come here with? work permit / permanent residency status (equivalent to US green card) / student / entrepreneur class etc.
- Where do you want to settle down? Mainly where the job takes you.
- Lifestyle would also determine where you settle. Do you a fast pace kind of environment e.g. Toronto / Calgary / Vancouver... any of the big cities basically. Or you prefer a more slower paced one - Winnipeg / Halifax / Ottawa / Quebec City

And basically take it from there.

hi there

the reasons i wont to move from the centre of the empire, is for many reasons

- Education is on the slide and with a new born i need to find a better future for him
- Its expensive just to live not saying Canada wont be but you'll get more bang for your buck
- I find the UK recently more claustrophobic be it an influx or increase of population and limited space i just feel that its a pressure cooker ready to burst and i dont wont to be here when it blows
- The attitude and morale of the country and the moment is at an all time low, be it political, economical or just everyday life its becoming an unpleasant place to live

the reasons for the moving to the outer realm

- Canada has the nicest people on the planet, OK maybe not all but most are!!
- Education system is one of best in the world (top 10)
- There is space to breath its doesn't feel as claustrophobic as the UK mainly cause of the sear size of the place!!
- So much to do and see Canada in my eyes is one of the most beautiful places on the planet and it free to see and explore the great outdoors
- And from what i heard its a better way of life.

hope that helps quench you curiosity, lol sorry if it full on but that's just the honest truth from my perspective.

Wow 6yrs awesome, Thank you for the help id love to hear your story how you started your journey and did it without support, as i have no idea where to start. lol

have you made any progress on your move?聽 My husband and I are also looking into this with our two young sons for basically the same reasons you share. I find the visa website quite contradicting and totally not sure which path to go down. Hoping to move by Sept 2018

Hey

Me and my boyfriend are also looking to move to Calgary, we started looking into it in July last year.
We spoke to an immigration lawyer, Mike, the initial chat was free, then we set up a Skype interview, he was in London and we are in Cheshire. The Skype interview was 拢75, but he asked us everything he needed in order to give us a rough idea if we would have enough point, for a good chance of getting picked.

We were warned about people potentially ripping us off because we are so excited and it would be just incredible to get over. So we read some reviews and asked Mike for some references and all looked legit.

He is great, all in all he will cost us around 拢3000 but it is all split into sections for what they do at that time. I know its a lot of money especially with moving also, But the advice we get from him is great and all handled so quickly. Mike works along side a lady in Alberta called Amy, she handles everything on the Canadian side.

From looking at changing my degree to the equivalent of a Canadian degree, pas work experience, current career points to posting to Canada. (Don't use Royal Mail Special, it wont get to the right place).

I would say they are worth the money. We are not currently in the pool just waiting for the next selection to see if we get the ITA then we start the next step. (We were a little delayed going in the pool because I couldn't pass my English exam. (IELTS) sounds so easy, but I get nervous in exams and havn't sat one in about 6 years.)

Hello we arrived 16th January. It took us 15 months for my husbands confirmation letter to come through.
You begin by going to the government of Canadas official site and reading and there is a lot to read but it is important what you want to do when you are in Canada as that will determine which application form you will use. We started filling forms in on Jan and when we actually submitted was 2018 and given the go ahead letter Nov 2019. There are a number of forms to fill out and when you are finally ready to submit forms can be updated on website so check and make sure you have correct revised number on bottom of form. I think we had to go back to three forms and transfer info. They WILL NOT accept old forms. As well as forms you need a full medical (拢350)done and this is done by select group of doctors (husband went to London) in another part of London biometrics 拢45 are taken) you also required to send form request for police record.
