Hello fellow expats and those considering emigration, I'm sharing my experiences so far here in Toronto. I'm from Germany. Today is my fifth day here. I'm here for 15 days to see how the city feels and whether emigrating here is a realistic option. I haven't had any direct contact with a community yet. Since I want to live in a co-living space, I'd like to check it out beforehand. But everything is online, and in-person visits aren't possible. Some of the rules are also quite strange (e.g., no visitors after 10 p.m.). On top of that, everything is much more expensive than I'd read. It's all a little bit of shame, but we'll see what happens next, and I'm not giving up yet.

It is completely understandable to feel a little overwhelmed during the first days, especially when discovering a new country with the idea of possible emigration in mind.
