Now we are looking at SMA and planning to come for a few weeks in August-September. If all works as we hope and when the house sells, then we will come for an extended stay of however long we want. The lifestyle is so appealing to us at this time in our lives. We long for less "stuff", simpler ways to spend our days, fresh farm markets, and getting to know new friends. Â

Looking to move to Merida, not sure when, but keeping the dream alive! Planning a two week trip there this summer and would like to be able meet other expats while visiting. Where are some places that I would be able to meet others?
To all expats, welcome to Mexico.
saludos

My husband, Jon, and I live full-time in our motorhome with our miniature dachshund, Bella. We follow the sunshine and warmth, so we move around sometimes. Mexico is our home for the winter months and we spend most of our time in Mazatlan and Sayulita. We take our "home on wheels" with us to the United States for the summer when we visit our family.
We have a son and new granddaughter in North Carolina so we will visit the east coast for the first time this summer. Then we will head back to Oregon to see our daughter, our oldest son, and their families including two granddaughters. We visit our family and friends there, camp in the beautiful parks, and enjoy the fall sunshine on the west coast before returning to Mexico.
I write several blogs and have published a book about our adventures and life in Mexico. You can view these at my website: HealthyLivingandTravelinginMexico.com. I look forward to meeting more expats in Mexico on this blog. We are in Mazatlan now and will be here for several more weeks, enjoying the beautiful weather, wonderful people, and simpler Mexican life.

Since 2000, I've been involved in theater work and I have taught writing classes for adults as part of a local non-profit organization. I know enough Spanish to understand most of what people are saying, read it even better and can speak well enough to navigate unfamiliar places and have dinner conversations. I live close to a friend, but am looking for new friends who might want to explore Merida and the Mayan sites, cenotes and other interesting places in the Yucatan. So happy to be living in Mexico!
I'm Ian from England and I've travelled around Europe, Australia, South East Asia and India. I came to Mexico initially to do a three month Yoga Teacher Training course in Oaxaca and met a Mexican girl. We are going to try living in D.F. (where she has lived all her life) and when I come back after a short trip home in July to gather some more funds I'll be working teaching yoga, giving workshops and cacao ceremonies and continuing with some online business and freelance writing.
Hope to meet some fellow expats sometime!
best of wishes for you all!!
Emmanuel

So much that I have been trying to find a company that would hire me and sponsor my Visa. I worked in the oilfield as a diesel mechanic and Supervisor for a long time. Well that's my story and why im trying to move to MexicoÂ
I worked for GM in Saltillo 30 years ago. There were several Americans working as contractors for Mexican and American companies who came into Mexico on tourist Cards. If you want to take the chance on working illegally, that's the quickest way, not that I recommend it to anyone.

My connection to anyone who might help you find work in Saltillo ended a long time ago.

People with manual skills can work in the cash economy and stay under the radar.
A neighbor of mine who has a TV/Stereo repair shop started by his father that has been in business a long time tells me business continues falling off sharply because most people do as the US and replace rather than repair. Is that happening where you live?
I have a 42" plasma I bought in the US in 2006 in the US. It's still going strong but maybe the picture a dimmed a bit. If it ever does crap out would the 500- - 2000 estimate be in the ballpark?
Thank you for your interest gudgriefe, if you need my service some day, just give me a call, or email auto.mecanico.pro@gmail.com . (I also repair home appliences and electronics). All repairs are done in your home (Queretaro area only). Trip charge - 200 pesos (only the first trip is charged), total TV repair cost (labor + parts) is usually between 500 - 2000 pesos. In some cases I cannot provide same day repair service because I need to buy parts. In many cases 1-2 trips would be enough to fix your TV.Im Sophia from Germany. Ill move in 3 weeks to Mexico City. Im looking for people who already live there and can help me with my spanish:)
Greetings!

Matt here, and just looking for fellow Filipinos who have gone to Mexico, if they could help me out with some of my inquiries. I'm trying to help a friend, also a Filipino, get a visa to travel to Mexico but since it's their first time and they plan to get a visa, what should they expect?
Any info is welcome.
Regards,
Matt

Im planning on renting a place in Rosarito and speak some spanish.
