Hi Lorenzo,

Are you living in an apartment ? If so start with the owner. How are you paying at the CFE office like most of us do ? or is it part of your rent ? The answer to those questions will help narrow down what direction to take.

The reason I ask about you possibly
living in a multi tenant situation is that I have heard of mix ups where one tenant was charged for the air con of another renter also. In those situations the owner is figuring out who pays what. That is why I suggested talking to the owner/landlord. As you probably know air con is very expensive. Plus they put in those new smart meters which have been nothing but trouble in many places in the world.

Well, 1000$ pesos for a year comes to an average of 90$ pesos/month so within the lowest rate of 0,793$/kw gives a consumption of 113kh/month based on my understanding of what Lorenzo wrote.

But if that is for a month's usage then verify like "travellight" said.

CFE billing periods are 2 months. Then there is also CFE´s DAC tariff rate for over consumers. The OP´s post could not be less clear.

The CFE has started monthly billing when you go above the standard consumption.

Some people pay CFE on a monthly basis , I know someone who did, It depends on how it was set up in the beginning by the owner of the house. When my friend moved into the house the bill was set up as monthly, he didn't like that because at the other house it was every two months. He has since moved and it's back to two months. He is not and was not a heavy user.

Almost all residential CFE bills are for 2 months as specified in the link to CFE above and you click on Periodo  Consumo. DAC rates were included but as one poster mentioned they may have started sending them 1 month bills but if he/she is relying on the link they posted it has non DAC rates also in monthly increments as this explaination of tariffs has been that way for over a decade on this link. So possibly/probably almost all CFE residential bills are send every 2 months.

Found the answer, the CFE bills monthly if you have the preauthorised payments if not then it's every 2 months.

I previously rented a house and the bills changed to monthly because the owner had auto payments from her bank account.

Good information. Thanks for finding out how it really works at CFE.
