Moving to Brisbane, AU

My daughter, son-in-law and 7 y/o granddaughter are moving to Brisbane 12/2027. I guess Im following them. I'm apprehensive to say the least. AU would not even be on the list of places I wouldn鈥檛 mind being an expat.

Im 69. Love the outdoors. Single. Active in all things, gardening, birding, hiking, biking, horseback riding, all things - environment vs humans - especially supporting native flora and fauna. I know next to nothing about AU. Im not particularly thrilled about living in the subtropics. Where/how do I begin this transition?

I left my heart in Sicily. America is a hot mess. I worry about being on the other side of the planet the rest of my extended family.
