Hi. I am a 57 year old male of British descent. I have lived and studied in the USA and have worked there and here in many fields. I really love Cochabamba from what I have seen online in the past few months. My sister (younger) and I and her son (and maybe his girlfriend from UK) would really like to move there and obtain permanent residency (and actually live there permanently unlike people looking for 2nd passports). I do not know the purpose of this expat connection forum, but if appropriate, I would like to make friends in Bolivia and learn more about working there. I may open a B&B, but would still need to work (which you can do with temp-residency). My background is in truck driving (only 4 pallet size), teaching, math, physics, Spanish (functional), programming AS/400, chess, sales, wholesale & retail, customer service, law (office assistant). I'm working on my TOEFL, even though a native English speaker. I feel certain that I can be of service somewhere and become a true member of society down there. Is that possible? Thank you so much for any help/info you can provide.

Hello and welcome to the forum,
Thank you for your detailed introduction. It’s always appreciated when new members take the time to share their background and goals.
This platform is indeed here to help connect people, exchange information, and offer support related to life in Bolivia.
I think the first step will be visa and residency. Feel free to have a look at the following website to reach out to a Bolivian embassy closest to your country of residence :
I would also suggest that you open a new topic on the Bolivia forum to post your questions so that members can share their experience with you.
All the very best
