On behalf of the entire Expat-blog team I would like to welcome you as a new member of the blog.

You will find that the Brazil Forum is quite active and it is full of much needed information that will help all expats adapt to living in the country. There are a number of topics posted at the top of the first forum page where you will find almost all of the information you will need to know about life and living in Brazil.

Before you post a topic with a question, please take the time to look through some of the past topic postings. The chances are that your question has been asked and answered a number of times and you'll find exactly the information you want if you look around for it. While I always do my very best, I'm only human and just like everybody have a bad day every now and then. Sometimes it gets a bit frustrating answering the same question for the hundredth time, so it would be greatly appreciated if you make the effort to see if there is a related posting to what you want to know.

If you have any other questions and can't find an answer then please feel free to post a topic and pose your question or to message me personally. I will answer you as best I can, if I do not already have the answer for you I will certainly try to find one.

Please be aware that as a new member your PRIVATE MESSAGE privileges are not yet ‘activated’. You must activate them yourself by first participating in the forum. It is necessary to either post a topic in the forum or reply to topics already posted in order to unlock the private message privileges. The more you participate in the forum the larger your mailbox becomes.

Expat-blog has an automated ANTI-SPAM system, copy and paste messages are restricted in the private message system. If you send more than FIVE (5) copy and paste messages your mailbox will get locked out . This is clearly explained in a number of locations throughout the site.

If your mailbox gets locked out for sending copy and paste, don't post a topic in the New Members Forum saying that you can't send private messages - there are already hundreds of such messages from people who just don't care to understand or follow the rules. If you ask for your mailbox to be unlocked because you sent copy and paste... it won't happen. These rules are there for everybody's protection, even yours.

Please take the time to read the Brazil Forum Code of Conduct (see link below) all members of the blog are expected to conduct themselves accordingly. Saying you didn't know the rule just doesn't work, it is your responsability to find out what the rules are.
